Isn't this a particularly unfortunate name for a restaurant? <span style="font-weight: bold">Taste It Again</span>.

A local allegedly authentic Jamaican restaurant in Bloomfield, NJ has opened.
Yup. Their name is Taste It Again.

That name makes me think of belching and regurgitation... nothing one should want one to think of in connection with one's restaurant.

Why choose such a name?
There <span style="font-style: italic">had</span> to be better names...

I have not yet been able to bring myself to walk through their door. Even Mr Witchy is hesitant. dwl

No one is ever in there. Not even when they're open. We've yet to see a single soul other than an employee in there... They've been open for a couple of months, now... maybe 10 or 12 weeks.

U wouldn't believe - we ate there are few months ago when they opened.

Ur absoLUTELY right about one thing - nooooooooo one was there. Literally, we were the only ones in the place. I thought maybe it was because we got there just as they opened for dinner service but sure enuff, as we ate and drank thru out the meal, no one else came in to sit down.

2 people did come in and pick up orders they place to take away but, that was it.

They were new - so being deserted - I can't hold that against them - maybe word hadn't yet gotten all the way out.

But rest assured, that was the first and last time I'll set foot in there</span>. The food was completely unremarkable. My 14 yr old niece could prolly make a gourmet meal compared to what we had. Mark you - the food wasn't bad - it was just totally overpriced and not great - not worth the $ and NOT worth leaving my house for it.

The owner tho - very, very nice lady. NOT nice enuff to be charging what she does for sorrell tho.

I am serious about my supper offer, Yuri... Do you like Greek food? Thai? Italian? Vietnamese? Ethiopian? Name it.
I probably know where to get fabulous food in just about any cuisine (except, sadly, good Jamaican food) hereabouts.

The best of the best around here - if you like any of these cuisines - is Harrar (Ethiopian) in South Orange, Stamna (Greek), or Binh Duong (Vietnamese) in Bloomfield. There are several great Thai places and several outstanding Italian places. Need I say that we're right near Ferry Street in Newark... meaning (OMG! I'm drooling) fabulous Portugese food? You want great grill, to-die-for Portugese brazier? he he he

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one who read that name as &quot;not so good&quot;... I was afraid it was just me.

What a shame the owner didn't name her place better.

Then again, if her food is merely mediocre, and her prices are Bloomfield prices... then she has other, more important, business problems than the place's name. Too bad.
