Mr Witchy's car was in the mechanic's garage, the past two days, getting a new starter; the old one died. He borrowed my Land Cruiser to go to/from work. (because my Cutlass Brougham was damaged when he was driving it 2 weeks ago, if unnu recall, the night he had his stroke -- so my Oldsmobile is not yet repaired
)
Didn't the man arrive home last night, limping my beloved truck into our driveway, with the Cruiser making <span style="font-weight: bold">really baaad</span> broken drive shaft noises?! Cho!
We have AAA Premium membership! Why didn't the man stop and call and get a (<span style="text-decoration: underline">free</span>!) wrecker tow for my truck???
I almost killed the man before he even set foot through my kitchen door. Literally.
No jury in Essex county would convict me... believe it. (just ask the other 'jcommers who live hereabouts - lol)
So, this morning, I got my Cruiser towed the few blocks to my mechanic's garage, and picked up Mr Witchy's stupid Nissan Maxima.
A couple of hours later, I got the bad news: It's not the drive shaft... it's much worse. <span style="font-weight: bold">It's the truck's crank shaft.</span> (The crank shaft goes straight through the engine block. To replace or rebuild it, one must take apart the entire engine, essentially, so one must also rebuild the engine as well. That's <span style="font-weight: bold">BEAUCOUP</span> bucks!!)
Is the Land Cruiser worth the repair? Yes.
Do I have it? Not all at once. I'd have to make payments on a plan.
Is my mechanic willing to do that - a payment plan? Yes... for me Only for me. But yes, for me.
We're talking about several week's worth of work, now... because he'd have to work on my truck in between working on paying customers' cars and trucks. I understand that. Such is Life.
Now I wanna <span style="font-style: italic">KILL</span> Mr Witchy! Even though it's not his fault. He didn't do anything wrong. it just happened due to age of the 20 yrs old truck.
BUT..... it happened on his watch, dammit!!
The car accident with my Cutty was also not Mr Witchy's fault: A high-speed police chase, a running driver who crossed the double line into ocoming traffic and hit us and kept running, inept cops who lost the chase and let the driver get away, and Mr Witchy having a stroke immediatel after all of this hoopa... not his fault, any of it.
Still..... it happened on his watch, dammit!!
Mr Witchy's own Maxima... needed a new starter. It, too is an old car, and Mr Witchy drives a fair amount of miles regularly - so compost can be expected to happen.
<span style="font-weight: bold">BUT WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAPPEN ON HIS WATCH, DAMMIT?!</span>
Smaddy come and help me to fell a little better! Please?
Thanks.
