An Asian housemaid served her employing family in Dubai with meals and tea mixed with her urine for nearly four months in a bid to control them and push them to pay her more before her foul magic way was uncovered by police.
Her employer decided to report her to the police last week after suspecting her behavior because of persistent foul smells in their food, tea, and soup.
A police team sent to search the house in Rashidiya area found a bottle containing urine in the maid’s bedroom.
After she was pressured during investigation at the police station, she confessed to have mixed her employing family’s meals and drinks with her urine for nearly four months, believing that she could control them so they will pay her more and stick to her.
The main also confessed she had done so to an Arab family for several months in another Gulf country.
“The maid justified her behavior to a general belief in her country that she can control any person by adding her urine to his food or drinks…she said she wanted this family to raise her salary and give her more incentives,” said LT Colonel Ahmed Al Marri, criminal investigation chief at Dubai police.
“She said the family in Rashidiya suspected the food contained something strange because of the smell but that they have had it regularly since she joined them,” he told Emarat Alyoum daily.
Marri said police had recorded <span style="font-weight: bold">similar cases involving foreign housemaids who resorted to mixing food with urine or blood either to take revenge of their employers or as a sort of witchcraft.</span>
