An unruly passenger on board an American Airlines flight from Jamaica had to be restrained by passengers after landing in Miami today.
The plane had just arrived from Montego Bay Friday morning and was still taxiing when the male passenger abruptly stood up and rushed toward the cockpit, according to witnesses.
Two male passengers quickly restrained the man before the plane reached the gate.
He was from there taken into airport police custody.
'He just ran to the front, pretty quickly,' Ronald Webb, a passenger on board the flight told WSVN.
'We were a little bit worried because we didn't know what it was all about,' Mr Webb added.
He said he originally wondered if it was another passenger, similar to one on a US Airways flight Tuesday, claiming to have a surgically implanted device
It was frightening with terrorism as it is these days,' Mr Webb said of today's incident.
Miami International Airport spokesman Greg Chin could not immediately name or say what the passenger on the American Airline flight had done.
American Airlines released the following statement later:
'After landing, a passenger was not cooperating with crew member instructions and was acting suspiciously. Airport police were called and they removed the passenger from the plane.'
Close to home: Ronald Webb, a passenger on board, described the man running to the front quickly which recalled thoughts of previous terrorist attacks on planes
