It makes no sense. It's a case of the gentleman doth protest too much. Clearly he has issues with his own Blackness and perhaps at some point there have been issues with people commenting on how he looks. He needs to get help to deal with those issues instead of projecting them on to others.

And yes there are a number of people who were socialised in the Diaspora doubt the verascity of my birth....

No Tropi we differ... U say Sean Paul look middle eastern.. I say the middle eastern people look Jamaican.....It is from where one sits that gives the perspective.....

Didn't you see my recent post? A close friend of the family who I have know all my life (and who my family knew before migrating to Canada) visited last year. She had never mentioned it before but in conversation it came up that her grandmother is Taino.

Upon arrival in Jamaica, her grandfather deserted his ship and headed for the hills. He married a Taino woman who our family friend described as having long thick hair. She wasn't sure if her grandmother was 100% Taino, if she was descended from one of Jamaica's original inhabitants or from a family that had moved to Jamaica post emancipation. She did say that her grandmother identified herself as Taino.

just throwing this out there, the grandmother could also be native american.. In the 1800s the US used to ship the unruly indians and black slaves to Jamaica, usually into black river.

Gen, did you really read the thread that came previously? Only a complete farrina would ever say something like this.

"He looks Middle Eastern" - fine
"He looks like his ancestors are from the middle east" - fine
"I wonder if he is mixed with middle eastern blood?" - fine
"Im look Syrian een?" - fine
"He doesn't look like most people in Jamaica" - borderline but fine
"He looks more Middle Eastern than Jamaican" - eedyat farrina chat

Why do foreigners make such mistakes? Because they don't understand
the difference between race and nationality. They don't realise Jamaica
is a pluralistic society that doesn't dwell on minority vs majority issues.
We do not marginalise our citizens based on their racial or ethnic heritage.
We don't put ticks beside black, white, chinie,coolie, odder.
Neither do we assume they are farrina because dem skin colour tun up...

Not only that, but she goes on the question the strength of his Jamaican accent based on his colour? Really? Every non-pretentious Jamaican that was raised in middle-class Kingston has an accent like Sean Paul.

It is not even what I would call a african-inspired patois accent like what some people have in country...It is basically an offshoot of certain Scottish/Irish dialects in Britain.
