Donald Trump, speaking to the North Carolina Republican Convention, explained that his interest in proving that President Obama was not born in the US, has nothing to do with him being black. In other words, he can’t be a racist/birther because he picked Arsenio Hall as the his “Celebrity Apprentice” champion.

Trump was there to discuss Mitt Romney‘s presidential chances and his treatment of the media, but the birth certificate issue, as always, came up. This time, he had a ready response to the claims that his motives are racist based.

“Somebody said, ‘Oh, because I brought up the birth certificate, I’m a racist. I said, ‘How can I be a racist, I just picked Arsenio Hall,” said Trump.

Why would Trump NOT be racist? How often in his life has he interacted with black people?

Racism is very subtle sometimes.

One can even be racist and not KNOW one is racist. This is why often times now whenever a person does or says something racist their first defence is &quot;I have many black friends&quot; or &quot;I have black in my family&quot; or &quot;My great-great grandma was black&quot;.

Racism is nothing more than certain ill-feelings, suspicion, prejudice toward person of a difference race based on stereotypes, hearsay or experience.

Those experiences are often passed on from a young age and are often hard, if not impossible to get rid of.

It could be as simple as being exposed to only white standards of beauty so that one begins to believe if it's not white it's not pretty.

I'm sure every one on earth has some form of racism in their bones or another. Most people will just not chose to admit it.
