One thing Jamaica did very effectively was to aim a lot of promotion at the men. At one time there was a strong aversion to condoms and vasectomies. Thinking has definitely shifted. Wish I could find the old commercials and bus shelter ads.

The New

Interesting...I did a project about this at university and the approach in this video was what was suggested as the best approach to family planning education. Showing the environment in which things happen.

I wonder if they read my report.

one day when I was in 6th form a friend asked me to buy Pearl pills "for her helper"

I said sure.

So I go into the pharmacy -- small pharmacy near Marescaux Road -- and di pharmacist turns out to be a good good friend of my mother

As for that "friend"

Did she tell ur mother or did u chicken out ?

Actually I was in a pharmacy in Barbados the other month... and saw an incredible scene.. I was behind this in young man in line who was attempting to buy condoms and the middle aged crucifix wearing matron who was at the counter in typical reacted with inertia and obvious disapproval.. She pretended she did not understand what he wanted...and was almost shouting as he indicated the orange package.... she took down the blue green brown packaging any thin imho to discourage the man from being responsible...
