Six-hour funeral

Six hours

IT WAS never going to be short. There's nothing brief about a Revival funeral, but the celebration and thanksgiving for the life of the Reverend Inez Agatha Kirlew, née Vassell, at the Church of God of the Mount Assembly in Westmoreland, easily outdid itself on Sunday.

Everybody wanted to heap praises upon Mama Kirlew and remember her fondly; <span style="font-weight: bold">everybody wanted to sing her a song</span>.

This is completely different.Revivalists believe in reviving the dead. They also believe that the dead was more powerful than the live. More over she was a &quot; mada&quot;. They believe he has exceptional powers.

We don't care what they believe. We however don't believe in six-hour funerals

mi aunty used to make wedding cakes. even as a small child i was bemused by the gravalicious people who pack up cake and food (meant for wedding guests) home fi unkle festa, miss gwen and bruk foot ferdie.

and that was back in those days, so j'can weddings weren't as sophisticated. white rice, curry goat, manish wawta and wedding cake was the only thing on the menu as far ax i can remember.
