Does anybody blog for money?
Y'know... homemaking or mommy blog, a business or sales blog, etc?
Do you know anyone who does this?
I've been 'pushed' to blog for profit for so long now..... that I'm actually giving it some serious thought. I have sought some professional advice, and so far all three pros have said that I definitely should blog and that I will earn money easily with a homemaking blog - given the sorts of topics that I intend to address in such a blog. (Apparently the things I know how to do, and am willing/able to teach others how to do, online, are things that are 'hot' things right now with homemakers, stay-at-home mommies, single moms, etc... Who knew? I learned to do such things back when they were considered basics. I don't known when or how or why such things are no longer taught to women??)
I kinda feel silly even broaching this topic. Who the hell am <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">I</span></span>, to tell other people how to do things better? Even if I <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">do</span></span> know better... is it <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">my</span></span> place to tell other people what to do or how to do it?? Why would anyone listen to <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">me</span></span>???
I mean... YES, I do know a better way to fold your sheets to fit them into your linen closet... so they all will fit into that small space. YES, I do know how to get that stubborn stain out of your fave dress (or your hubby's dress shirt) that you've tried and just cannot remove yourself... so you needn't throw the garment away. YES, I can tell you how to cook suppers for less money, enabling you to stick to your reduced budget, and save you time as well, with a few simple techniques that aren't difficult to master, if you really want to learn them. YES, I can teach any woman (or man) how to repair a toilet - or even how to take one out and replace it with a new one all by yourself, at a fraction of what it'd cost you if you hired a plumber - especially if you had the plumber come on an emergency basis. Ditto a sink. YES, I can tell you how to safely re-wire that antique lamp you fell in love with at the flea market or rummage sale, so that it works again, and it will only cost you a few dollars (if that much). YES, I can tell you how to tune up your own car (if it's not one of the computer cars requiring the computer machine)... or how to do a brake job (disc brakes being simpler than old shoe brakes).
Don't most people know how to do these ^ basic kinds of things?
These are things I learned in my teens and early twenties. My father taught me most of this stuff... didn't everyone learn this from their father? (Okay, my grandmother taught me the sheet-folding tricks... that'd be my father's mother. lol)
