But seriously if Adam Clayton Powell was black then this guy could have been too- if that's him and if the depiction is accurate...I also have my suspicions about Alexander Hamilton, a born Caribbean man

I'm from Maryland. I know Maryland history pretty well. THIS John Hanson was not black. He was also not English. He was from Swedish ancestry. Wiki leaks is crap. Don't depend on it for any reliable information.

I know for fact that different people see different 'things' when viewing pictures of people, jah_yout; that's why I asked.

I am notorious for &quot;seeing white&quot;, according to my friends of color (brown and yellow as well as black). dwl Seriously! When we all get together and view different pic of persons of biracial or non-white people, I usually see &quot;white&quot; people, and my non-white friends always laugh at me and exclaim, &quot;How can you say s/he's white? Can't you see s/he's a &lt;fill in your fave epithet&gt;? Jeeze!&quot;
NOTE: The use of racial epithets isn't meant badly, although I am well aware of that argument... if a black epithet is used, it's by a black, and if a Hispanic epithet is used, it's by a Latin(o/a), etc.

So I am apparently incapable of seeing races other than my own when I look at people. Everyone looks white to me.

It takes nothing away from one to remember the other as well. And vice versa.

Race in many cases is highly subjective. Many a time I have seen individuals who I could not tell their so-called race.
But amerikkka has to swallow that pill they made in declaring one drop of the African DNA makes one &quot;black&quot;...
So the white John Hanson could have been black and the black John Hanson could have been white...
And Obama is black, white or other depending on who is talking...
It's one species regardless

you might have heard about the film about the south african girl born to 'white' parents, who came out looking like a light-skinned black - recessive genes; turns out that many 'white' south africans are mixed;.
