Why can't producers of reggae shows deliver what they advertise. There was a line up of reggae artists for Jamaica Day at Parc Jean Drapeau today (on an island in the St. Lawrence River) right across the river. A list of artists and the time they would perform was announced. Eric Donaldson was announced for 8 PM. Other more dance hall style local artists were to perform after him.
The show got behind (par for the course) and to add insult to injury, the organizers decided that they would put Eric Donaldson on last as they were afraid that people would leave once he performed. The show was scheduled to end at midnight.
I complained to the organizer and pointed out the that young people in the crowd were probably not familiar with Eric Donaldson's music and they would stick around for the dance hall style reggae. He said he would say what he would do. I finally got fed up and left. So did a lot of other people.
I guess this is the closest I will get to seeing perform live:
