I learned something today.

I wonder how they decided who to include in the 15%. Do they have a shade meter or lip gauge or something ? Is there a cutoff after which you are just African or European ? And what point are you just.....Jamaican ?

Our census categories have been there for decades. When it is done in person, the census taker is the one who decides the category. Otherwise everyone would say that they are...

I know someone who used to be a census taker. He filled me in. Alas, he is now deceased and I never asked him that question.

Strange that people are objecting when this classification system has been in place for ages.

Nope. I am not even sure if he is divorced to tell the truth despite Miss Hamilton being referred to as his fiancee. But I could be wrong.

I heard that he is still legally married but I don't know for sure. This is what I found:
