If he is cooperative we would work with him to handle informing the organization. If not, we do not have a choice and will inform the two groups. Additionally, I will let him know that his guests are not permitted to use our facilities. I need some help on this one.

Is THIS not the point where you stand up as a man, as a human being, as a parent ... and say no - enough is enough. Time to call a spade a spade. Children are being raped. Perhaps we're even unsure children are being molested but, let's go with our original plan - it's time for us to call the po po ...

If this isn't the stage where 4 grown, educated, worldly men make this decision, when is it?

On another point - What about his wife's (Jerry S.'s) actions in all of this? Do you believe that she did not know what her husband was doing in their basement with these young boys? sleeping with them and showering with them? That ain't normal - not even with your own children there is a time when a father/mother have to stop showering/sleeping with their kids. There is enough blame to go around and those people who are side stepping who the real victims are - the damn statue should have been torn down like the Berlin wall - the children are the victims not PENN STATE.

And I don't have a crystal ball and I'm not omniscient but yes, I think the wife knew. Everyone knew - but no one wanted the pock marks on the school's reputation.

My sentiments exactly. While I am sensitive to the issue of sexual abuse, I think erasing Paterno's wins speaks more to appeasing the general public that the governing body takes the allegations seriously. </div></div>
Knee-jerk reactionary B-S designed solely to appease the uneducated, ignorant masses. No more and no less.
And of ZERO value to either the students there now OR the men who were abused as students there in the past.

I disagree.


If the formerly abused wish a memorial (and if they do not, there should not be one - it's as simple as that... it should be up the the victims and NO ONE else to decide that, otherwise it's an additional type of rape crime, IMO) then I hope that a new memorial is made, of entirely new material(s)... <span style="font-style: italic">NOT</span> from the old bronze of JoePat's statue.

(1) The victims - should they want it - deserve <span style="text-decoration: underline">their own</span> memorial, something entirely of their own... fresh and new and untainted.

(2) I still disagree with the general idea and principle of destroying an innocent artist's work, just because his/her subject turned out to be less than stellar a human being. (OK, in this case, like I've said before, more of a human pig.) Why punish the artist, who did nothing wrong? Why punish everyone who paid hard-earned money to have the statue made, when they also did nothing wrong? Punish the sinner only, not the whole rest of the world (or, in this case, the university)!

I wondered why no one (not just here on J'com, but everywhere) hasn't been asking questions about why/how Mrs Sandusky didn't seem to know or notice anything 'wrong'... <span style="font-weight: bold">How the hell can you NOT notice such things going on in your own house, with your husband, over the course of decades?!!</span>
