Lead singer Caron Wheeler (whose parents are Jamaican) was raised in Jamaica...

My boy lollipop was written by members of an american group called the cars or cadillacs and was recorded by an american girl singer long before Millie Small a Jamaican recorded it in the late 50's or early 60's.
