The guy was simply another nut case....he belonged to a hate group. Hate groups hate anybody different than themselves. If it wasn't the Sikhs, it could have been Jews or Muslims etc. I believe he knew exactly who he was targeting.
Me thinks you are taking for granted that this guy was mistaking Sikhs for Muslims, I say it did not matter to him.

I don't see this type of thing too much in Canada and Mexico ;
And i'm not blaming teachers-- they are beholden to their bosses and carricula as well...I said the system

It is hard to say if he is nuts or just plain EVIL!
