<span style="font-style: italic"> The family of former Prime Minister Bruce Golding have indicated it could be several months before he is fully recovered from a recent back surgery.
Golding remains in Miami, Florida, where he underwent major lumbar spine surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital on July 30.
The procedure became necessary because of an infection which had developed following his initial spine operation in Jamaica in June.
The infection had failed to respond fully to a second operation.
However, the family is seeking to make it clear that the infection was not the fault of the medical team in Jamaica.
The Golding family says the former Prime Minister has been fitted with a special back-brace to help stabilize his spine during the healing process and that he is receiving extensive physiotherapy. </span>
