BG - were they Jamaican Indian or real real Indian? you can;t buy curry as just a mix like we do at home - they have variations of different types of curry's like Masala curry is one variation and they mix up various things to get different types of curry... curry is not just curry...

BG you are so right! I asked the mister and he confirmed what you said about the Indians bringing the weed and also about the origin of the word... So you know i had to look it up and found that it was brought over by them in the 1800's yes by the indentured servants...

As ai said though i dont see any usage here so i went and did some searching on that too and found that it is apart of their religious festivals especially in the Hindu worship of the Goddes Shiva... They have 3 different types of weed and 3 diff ways that they ingest...
Used wisely it is considered an elixir... Used stupidly its considered a fools tool ( or something to that effect)

Yea the root is the river Ganges ...which was named after an Ethiopian general...
Kali, usually spelled collie in Jamaica, is also indian origin from the black goddess in Hindu religion...
Calalloo, curry goat from India ...
An Indian was instrumental in the foundation of the Rastafari movement

You'd be surprised how little I know of Ganja in general
nonetheless - I want to do some more research on this and perhaps present it in a different light.
