I have followed Bolt career since about 2004.. when a Jamaican Friend of mine and I was discussing athletics and he drew my attention to Bolt...

He pointed out that Bolt achievements was in spite of a spine condition and a slight leg length difference.. He also pointed out the thing that Bolt had against him was he was gallis.

With Bolt's disability he has a danger that in later life there is a possibility that he could be seriously injured and impered movement. The warm up routine he goes through is brutal...I honestly think that he is in slight discomfort every time he runs... That each time he runs it is through pain, is one reason why he seems to be playing, he is distracting himself.

Watch the other male runners the arrogance of them, the strutting the chest beating the rooster alpha male .. What Bolt does is different almost feminine in its approach.He extrudes empathy, inclusiveness. He make contact with the officals. The litte children that picks up his gubbins .. He talks to, others are ignoring them and at times have shouted at them. Bolt makes them giggle. At what is a life changing moment. He reach across, a gulf of talent and connects <span style="color: #FF0000">that is greatness.</span>.

The man is not Steven Hawkins or Mandela he makes the irrelevant seem relevant. He makes us smile with his magic. That is different.. that is great...

More compable how the ladies sprinters interact than the men. He engages with not only the crowd but the support staff... He flirts, he dances.. I believe he realises that it freaks out the competion.

Over teh years he set himself a very public goal. He was clear. &quot;I want to be a legend..&quot; This was what he answered when they asked him if he was the greatest sprinter. He defined being a legend as retention of his Olympic titles. No one questioned his definition of being a legend. No one said retention of the title would not make him a legend. Arogance no, goal setting and achievement.

He did what he said defined a legend. He achieved the self definition of legendary status . Why should he not do say to them.

I think he is modest. I watched him with a grimice of pain after a meet last year run round the stadium so all could see him.

thank you,Wahalla. the sum of the man is so much more than what he is being criticized for. and he's still relatively young. what i love about Usain Bolt is that he is a content human being. he is settled in himself, matter of fact about his accomplishment. he is able to both give himself as he is and take people as they are, because of his amazing self-confidence. wonderful quality.
