not sure how his popularity in Jamaica translates to any political advantage for him.
When its hot in the jungle of peace I go swimming in the ocean of love.....
LOL, Robert is turning into a clown in his old age, dont take it serious, the man has one foot in the grave, you should hear what he says about Botswana , despite the financial and otherwise support that he gets...

It's more like moral support and solidarity.
@Wahalla, calls our president "that half british boy" and says he doesnt understand why his people are running to a country that has more goats than people, and talks about how uneducated we are!!! All sort of ridiculous things!
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Wahalla</div><div class="ubbcode-body">So he is not universally popular in Botswana.... </div></div>
NOPE, he is not even MARGINALLY popular. As I said in one thread many moons ago, its easy for people to stand with Mugabe on a matter of principle bla bla against the so called white man, but when you actually see firsthand how the people are suffering, its hard to justify some of these things. Our population went from around 1.7M to over 2M in a short period because of the migration of Zimbabweans ( legal and illegal) due to what is happening across the border. Crime has gone up, unemployment, etc...

I wholeheartedly agree..
President Mugabe has "blind sided" Jamaica and Jamaicans by what is surely a vicious and scurrilous attack on our country and its people before a "Special Audience".. Jamaicans of all stripes over the years have travelled to his country, gave him their support and Do Not deserve this kind of "Disrespect and Tongue Lashing". I for one was never one of his supporters of his policies; I wonder what my friend Dr Dudd thinks of him now? Maybe he's going senile as someone said..
