What to do in San Francisco

Dont recall anyone ever talking about San Francisco on here, but just to try my luck, I am going there for a conference end of the month, any recommendations on what to do, what to see, where to SHOP!

Note this will be my VERY first time on US soil. Will be there for a week.

take a bus tour around the city to see what you like and not like to explore more

if time permits a day trip to napa valley for wine tasting if you have any

take a trolley ride

Coit Tower

Alcatraz

Fisherman's wharf

If you are into art the SF Museum of Art is usually pretty cool

Take the trolley to the pier. Rent a bicycle. Ride across the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito. Have lunch there. Then catch the ferry back to the pier in late afternoon. You'll pass Alcatraz and see a spectacular view of the city

If you and friends want to rent a car for the day, you can follow the 49 loop thingy which is a tour of the city's neighborhoods and famous spots stopping wherever you want.

LOL, will try to leave my heart ...

Havent ridden a bicycle since I was 10, so no chance... trolley ride sounds fun! And Kooky Fun shopping.

Thought of Alcatraz but m not comfy in &quot;prison cells&quot;, freaked out at Robben Island!

Taking notes. Napa valley sounds interesting as well.

I like shopping, clubbing, sight seeing ( but not museums) etc

I've never been there, but it sounds like a really nice place (weather not too cold, or too hot ..)

Sammy, find a night harbor cruise with dancing Lots of great fun and you will have a fun.

I know you just got back from China, so you can skip Chinatown. Great Italian food

If you love walking and seeing cute houses, then this is the city for you. When I was there in November last year, days were bright and sunny, temps moderate, and bougainvillea were in bloom

Lots of African American history in SF and there's a famous baptist church and gospel choir whose name escapes me now. Have fun and say hello to my favorite city in the world
