Investigators say the five men detained in connection with Monday’s mob killing in Zion, Trelawny, will be questioned and placed on identification parades, as they deepen their probe into the incident.
The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre could not ascertain an exact date for the interviews, expected to glean information on the death of 43-year-old street cleaner Donovan Hazley.
His daughter was seriously wounded and their residence firebombed during the predawn attack in the squatter settlement of Zion, near Falmouth.
The angry mob reportedly set fire to their dwelling as they searched for a man, who they believe is behind the deaths of two boys in the community.
Residents were adamant that the culprit behind the deaths is from the Zion community and is related to Hazley.
The boys, 10-year-old Alex Brown and seven-year old Javani Brown, were found near a river last Thursday, five days after they went missing.
Residents claimed that the boys were buggered and killed.
A post-mortem report indicated that they had drowned.
However, the police say there are signs to indicate the boys may have been injured before they died.
A police team has been assembled to conduct an in-depth investigation into the deaths of the boys.
