A teacher at the Dunrobin Primary School in St Andrew had to be rushed to hospital this morning after she was attacked and assaulted by two men in front of several students.
The media have been barred from entering the compound.
However, our source says an alarm was raised after students were heard screaming.
It is reported that around 9:45 a.m. two men visited the school, checked with the campus security and signed the register saying they would be visiting a grade six female teacher.
The men then reportedly went to the classroom and ordered the children to remain quiet before they started to assault the teacher.
The frightened students then began to scream and the men fled.
When other teachers rushed to the classroom, their injured colleague was found bloodied on the floor.
She was then taken to hospital where she was treated and released.
The police are now at the school, however parents have been turning up to pick up their children.
The police are investigating reports that the attack may be linked to an incident this morning where the teacher scolded a student.
Principal Robert Gillies said he could not comment on the incident.
