Every so often I look fi a place in real estate in Jamaica fi retire... Mi would neva build a house!!!!

Suh mi fine dis place.. close to Negril.. in deh hills owna wata..seems ot have fruit trees two bedroom . now it belong to that old Jamaicans.com...

yes its tuff going, but I have seen guys here in late 20s who manage to get a home and move their bride into it...so its doable, now crime rate may be the bigger issue

The furthest I'll go <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-size: 8pt">(at least, this is how I feel at this point in time in my life)</span></span> is maybe - and that's a biiiiiig maybe - is buy wha likkle apartment ar kahndo ar whatsitnat, ah guh down en time mi feel fi guh down fi a few weeks ar ah munt. Dats it.

In reality tho, that's prolly just a pipe dream because who can afford fi buy ANY kinda dwellin' ah JA nowadaze.

u know I was thinking Libya as my retirement location....and when I was a young man I thought Zimbabwe or Guyana....An Scotish friedn of mine has decided Kenya....A welsh guy thought Panama...

But I am Jamaican and trace my ancestry to the original calabash caiman conch coney creation myth despite being told that I am some one else.. So to be the one that ends the connection is a bit sad multiple millenia conncections ends with me.... makes me feel like that image on Max Romeos War Inna Babylon albumn cova...

..I cannot live in a house with burglar bars... A couple houses I seen with internal burglar bars as well...

The first time I mentioned on here this burglar bars phobia as a deterrent to return in a thread .. I was told in all seriousness that they were there for decorations and people too follow fashion.. that crime was not that bad ....


I still like looking at houses and JC house is a nicer one than most I have seen. two bed rooms and an open plan kitchin living room... Not the usual monstrosities that I seen slabs of concrete..

This is the kind of place just isolated enough for peace from neighbours, few fruit trees, bit of land to plant some sweet potato and bitta casava.... fenced to keep out the neighbours goats... own water....Nice veiw to sit on the varandah to be robbed by the non neighbours....

Still the alternative is to guh build a likke shub ine wid thatch and wattle an daube that looks so fenke fenke no one would think it worthy of robbing.....
