So how did this Palestinian's man's little baby become an enemy and to who ? Just look at the pain on his face. So all of our technological progress has not brought us any further than Biblical days of an eye for an eye ?

First, RE: Syria... It's an Intra-Arabic problem. It does not have a single thing to do with the West... or with Israel. The Syrian government claims that it is fighting Al Quaeda, so the Syrians being killed are being killed either by the Syrian government (other Syrians) OR by Al Quaeda. Not by Israel. Not by any Arabs other than Syrians or members of Al Quaeda, and definitely not by the USA or other Western countries. The blame lies squarely with Syria and Al Quaeda, as the Syrian government tells us.

No, second, RE: The Philistini issues... Of course the little baby was never anybody's enemy... yet. S/He was collateral damages to the fight between Israel and Hamas; if Hamas wasn't using human shields (ie - little babies), there wouldn't be human babies as collateral damages. The blame lies squarely with Hamas. You don't see Israel using it's civilian populace as human shields. (And you never will, either.) So far as the pain on this Philistini father's face? I feel for his loss, just as I feel for the pain of every Israeli father who loses a son or daughter - no more and no less.

As for "an eye for an eye"... it's been that way since ancient biblical times - and before that, as you know, it was far worse. "An eye for an eye" was an improvement. It has been this way since that ancient biblical time... Do you really think that's ever going to change? It's human nature.

Israel can be accused of doing the same thing. When they "occupied" certain territories such as the West Bank, Gaza, Golan Heights - one of the first things the Israelis did was to build housing for Israeli families encouraging "settlements." The families who settled there included many children and many times they were caught in the crossfire of war. You want to tell me that these children were not intentionally put in harm's way effectively making them human shields?

Furthermore, Amnesty International has found evidence that Israel has used Palestinian children as human shields.
