Questions for American and US Based Boardites

For every argument against guns, I can find an argument for guns. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Tact? I grieve as much as anybody else with tears streaming down my cheeks as I think about all those helpless children. I grieve for the grown ups doing everything they could to think they were safe from the gunman, not knowing if it was over, not having a way to protect themselves, while they waited for the police. Since I've been called names by you in other treads, and directly received insults, when all I attempted to do was to gently point to the hypocritical message being posted, I'll just leave this thought provoking article as a rebuttal to the quoted comment above and step aside.

A gun by itself does not kill. It is a tool. I'll be happy to continue the discussion in another thread to keep this one on topic.

Without looking it up, how many amendments are there to the US Constitution?

So I still don't have an answer. How many amendments are there to the US constitution and identify the significance of the first 6? Remember no cheating. Go by memory. My impression was that this was all provided with each dose of the Kool-aid and I want to make sure that this is true.

To be honest, Tropicana, I never had a lesson on the US constitution. I had to memorize the 50 states and their capitals, the Gettysburg Address, the national anthem, the pledge of allegiance, etc., but we never covered the Constitution at any level of my education. Go figure.

Really? WOW! I am surprised with all the talk about 2nd Amendment and 5th Amendment I was under the impression that this was all mandatory training Stateside. Figured it was required instruction for children just like the required inoculations they receive. Mi nevah did know tse onoo just as dunce as de people dem a Canada bout civics, Government and history.

When this old girl went to school (with our hornbooks - ), we actually learned such things as what it says in the Constitution of the United States of America... and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (I grew up in Philadelphia)... and the Declaration of Independence... and how our government actually works, how our elected officials are actually elected, etc. I don't think that they don't bother to teach any of that any more.

Nah. They just line up the kids outside the nurse's office, stick 'em, and send 'em back to their classrooms. Just like that. They don't explain anything to the kids. lol

They don't teach anything to you Canucks either? *kissteeth*
