Has anyone any info on shipping a laptop to JA? Ever sent on to JA?

Too long a story but I need to get this done - the least expensive (I know, but dont laugh) way possible.

I'm more concerned about what fees, taxes, duties they're going to hit the recipient with when it GETS to Ochie.

Any thoughts?

I'm trying my best to wait it out until I know someone going down but looks like I have no one reaching out there soon.

I would Wally but trust me, to buy it out there, we'd be paying double for it. And it's not worth paying double for it and what I was able to find out there, wasn't that hot or up to date.

I keep hearing about a company called Mailpack or Mailpac but I can't call them to ask the questions a want without busting my pocket. I checked their website but I was hoping to find someone who has used them and been happy with the results.

Last time I was home last year, a patty was $60.

i see an email address on their facebook page (but not on the website). Also, if you do use them, I would suggest putting all charges on your credit card, in case you have to dispute anything later on.

them seem to be updating them facebook page and twitter page every hour or so but dem nuh have nuhbaddy fi answer email.

Anyway you look at it - DHL, Fedex, UPS, MailPac - you have to pay freight, GTC, etc. I just sent a package from JC Penny to my mother via MailPac and they charged me freight and GTC. We set up a MailPac account for my mother in Kingston so that packages can be delivered to her. The post office does not deliver anything larger than an envelope - you have to go to the post office to pick up and it is quite a hassle in Kingston

I called Fed Ex today and got pure run around. Oh brother ...

Will take a stab at Mailpac again on Monday and go bk and read the site tomorrow. Not sure where but I got the impression that i'd have to buy the laptop thru them too ... ?
