May 8, 2009: A temporary White House staffer, Carlton Philadelphia, brought his family to the Oval Office for a farewell photo with President Obama. Carlton's son softly told the President he had just gotten a haircut like President Obama, and asked if he could feel the President's head to see if it felt the same as his.Picture: Official White House photo by Pete Souza

April 18, 2012: We were doing an event at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Before speaking, the President was looking at some of the automobiles and exhibits adjacent to the event, and before I knew what was happening he walked onto the famed Rosa Parks bus. He sat in one of the seats, looking out the window for a only few seconds.Picture: Official White House Photo by Pete Souza

October 26, 2012: The President pretends to be caught in Spider-Man's web as he greets the Nicholas Tamarin, 3, just outside the Oval Office. Spider-Man had been trick-or-treating for an early Halloween with his father, White House aide Nate Tamarin, in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. I can never commit to calling any picture my favourite, but the President told me that this was HIS favourite picture of the year when he saw it hanging in the West Wing a couple of weeks later.Picture: Official White House Photo by Pete Souza

Nunya, you and I have the same favourites. I love those three you posted.
All really great photos!
Yes, thanks for posting them.
Yikes! Forgot about the Nobel Prize. It will be interesting to read the president's memoirs to see how he felt when he was named the winner of that award but had really not done anything to deserve it IMHO. Especially now ithat it has come to light that he is the "death by military drone president".

The image, captured by White House photographer Pete Souza, features Janiya Penny, an 8-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who finally had her dream come true through the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Penny has sickle cell anemia, a life-threatening disease that often leaves her in excruciating pain. She was approached by Make-A-Wish almost three years ago. When they found out that she wanted to meet the President, they tried to get her to change her wish -- they just weren't sure they could make it happen.
It all began in 2008, Gray told HuffPost, when Penny and her mother closely followed the election of the first African-American president. Although Penny was only 4 at the time, her mother says that she already had a sense of the significance of the historical moment.
They stayed up late to watch President Obama give his inaugural speech. Penny proclaimed that it was due to her wearing her Obama T-shirt on election day that the President was able to win.
Almost four years later, on August 8, 2012, Penny finally got to meet her hero.Last edited by Gen; 01-20-2013, 02:53 PM.

Obama's first term in pictures

This was my favorite. No way would I have let my little girl do that walk without me being there. Can you imagine how frightening that would be? And didn't she look nice; loved and taken care of. I would have been in the way, right between her and anyone to her exposed side.
