I agree with Jazz, seeing anything associated with Jamaica in a positive note has my vote and the fact that this will benefit one Jamaican, Jimmy Cliff, is enough for me. For that reason alone, I am supportive and was glad to see the ad run. I see no reason for the country to stand with its hands out waiting for residual effects to come its way. It's about our culture being portrayed in a positive note and as a Jamaican by birth or transplant, I would think support and pride would be something not too hard to come by.
BTW - the accent used is clearly Jamaican, even here in the South, everyone who know I was Jamaican despite my never having spoken the dialect infront of them was like 'hey we heard the dialect during the superbowl' so it was distinct enough.
I'm proud, thank u VW and congrats J. Cliff - thank you for your proud portrayal of the Jamaican culture.
