Beckman is now suing Match.com for $10 million, citing negligence, negligent misrepresentation, deceptive trade, failure to warn and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

In her official complaint, Beckman claimed that the site led her to believe that she’d end up in a ”stable and loving relationship with another member” and didn’t properly warn her about the dangers of meeting ”an individual whose intentions are not to find a mate, but to find victims to kill or rape.” However, Beckman has not sued Ridley, who died in prison last year while serving a sentence of up to 70 years for the crime. (For the record, he was also wanted for killing an ex-girlfriend in Phoenix.)

I would think Match.com an all dem adda kinda website deh, have whole heap a caveat and 'wi no responsible' clauses whe yuh haffi agree wid before dem mek yuh jine...

Match.com does not "link" you up with anyone... you can choose who you want to talk to after you post your profile and interested parties contact you...

Also match.com does not even give the other person your email - you can communicate with that person anonymously through the site until you are comfortable sharing details of your life. (phone number, address etc.)

She apparently did not do her due diligence... it;s not the sites fault

She could have met him anywhere else and the outcome would have been the same because she exercised poor judgement.

Exactly but when you consider stats that indicate that 55% of women drop baggy on the first date, it is surprising that this type of thing doesn't happen more often. I mean the guy could be an axe murderer, serial rapist or child molester.

Remember the days when women were advised not to kiss on the first date? What happened to common sense.
