She's one of my peeps! Yep. fi'real. There are Siberians and other Asians in my ancestry. (one of the reasons why my shocking biracial revelation that I just got hit with due to my free genetic test, recently)

I'm not quite so lily-white as I always thought myself. I've been pondering this for the past few months, wrestling with it. I'm not all "white". That was quite a shock to ME!! Naturally, my parents are telling me that the lab must have made a mistake and mixed up my results with someone else's... ri-i-i-i-ight, yeah, uh-huh. Because WE MUST BE 100% WHITE... therefore the medical lab MUST BE WRONG. My parents make me laugh.

Does it matter? Does it really matter if I'm white or I'm not white? All of America (the USA, that is) "reads" me as white. Asians have been "reading" me as Amer-Asian for decades. Native Americans - especially the Cherokee and the Navajo - have "read" me as either part-Cherokee or part-Navajo. Other Native Americans have also "read" me as [usually Cherokee Nation] passing for White. I guess they all know their own when they see one... lol
So my country and government treats me as white. And yes - I am well aware that there is indeed institutionalized racism here. So... given all of this - does it matter if I am white or if I am bi-racial? Not really, I guess. Too bad I can't produce anything to prove Cherokee or Navajo ancestry... that'd be worth something (to me), actually.


ETA: Some of my ancestors apparently came from Georgia (the central Asian country, not the southern state in th USA), and others from other Turkic-peopled areas, such as Kazakhstan and/or Uzbekistan and/or Kyrgyzstan. My father's father's original last name was something like Khaszjchan... no English letters for it, sorry - you gotta hear me SAY it, I guess. lol (It only has two syllables. Try to say the second syllable of "garage" with a Kazj in front of it, then say the Germanic-sounding gutteral soft growly "ch" sound that sounds like you're clearing your throat and end with "han" as in Ghengis Khan. Oh, forget it! dwl) Anyhoo... some of my ancestors' peeps were apparently Jhengiz/Ghengis Khan's and Kublai Khan's peeps - the nasty warriors on war ponies that swept through that area in the 12th century, and again in the 13th century, and took everythin and everyone over, and nearly took over Europe at the time. So I'm part-central Asian... Turkic. (which is NOT to be confused with Turkish - a totally different people)
