a friend of mine sent his son back to Jamaica for secondary school...Something IO disagree with... But I wondered is not cheaper to send ones children to university in UWI than to pay for tution in the US or the UK ?

So what reputation does a UWI degree have ?

I don't think UWI is significantly cheaper than Canada or The US (state schools).

I really don't know what kind of reputation a UWI degree has ..i know it is recognized.

In Jamaica and the Caribbean it has a good reputation. If you plan to go abroad with it you will probably have a hard(er) time if you plan to look for a job that requires a degree.

but like most degrees the institution becomes less significant as you spend more time in the workforce.

But as u pointed out the actual valuation reputation of a degree has a half life of a year once u are in the work force or graduate....

A great reputation. It is very competitive to get into. The only problem as mentioned before is that some of the credits will not be accepted in North America hence they will be doing over classes.

I may have missed something but if they are sending their offspring to UWI are they not an adult?
