Met Batman on Sunday - for real!

You never know what you'll see... or who you'll find slummin' in NJ.

Mr Witchy and I were driving along with East Orange/Orange borderline on Sunday afternoon, and we pulled up to the Batman in his Batmobile (Batmaro? It's a very heavily modified Camaro... you should hear it's engine! ) at a red light. The Batman looked (hand to God ... I swear this!) just like Christian Bale! Mr Witchy and I stared at each other and at the Batman, alternately, quite shocked.

I finally spoke through our open car windows to the Batman.

"Hiyah, Batman! Looove yer Batmaro!"

Now, Batman has always been my all-time fave comic book male character. Female all-time fave comic book character is Wonder Woman. dwl

Batman turns, gives me "The Batman" stare... and says, "Thank you."

The Batman continues to stare at me, runs his eye up and down my antique Oldsmobile, and adds, "I like your fine old car, too."

Just before the light went green, I said, "It's name is Babycakes."

Don't you know it... but the Batman replied, "Babycakes. I'll remember that. For the future. For the next time I see it."

Then the light went green, and he took of, and I turned right. And Mr Witchy and I looked at each other with our jaws hanging open.
Did we just talk to Batman?! Really???

You had to hear that Batmaro's turbocharger 'swooshing' as it took off!

Bat-mystery solved. Mr Witchy's step-daughter - who owns a couple of Gen 5 Camaros and a Classic Camaro - knows this Batman. He's a cop. A cop who takes his law enforcement job a wee bit too far, in her humble opinion...

Now Step-daughter Witchy is a GIA-certified diamond expert gemologist jeweler with two jewelry stores of her own. She does quite well financially. She does own three expensive Camaros. Not to mention her DD (daily driver) pick-up truck. And a nice house.
I keep telling her hat I'm gonna outlive her so I can inherit from her... that I'll share even-steven with her three daughters.

But she & I both notice that a Gen-5 Camaro (especially a heavily modified one like this Batmobile Camaro) costs BIG BUCK$$$$$ and cops don't earn that much money... so he must live frugally as hell, spending as little as possible to keep body and soul together, and then spending most of it on his Batman gear. Not quite righted in the head, seen?

I know that I sure as hell wouldn't wanna get busted by SuperCop/Batman!!! Eh-eh. Can we spell E-G-O?!!
