You know what. It was two days ago I was sitting down smiling to myself (no I am not going mad). I was actually reminded of a post I had on jamaicans.com once where I posited that slackness has been part of entertainment culture since the very early days.
In Anancy Stories, Miss Lou, Mento, Calypso, Dancehall.

In fact one particular song has featured in many genres.
Stanley And The Turbines Soldering has had a run from Mento to Reggae to Dancehall.

Slackness is filth and smut appealing to the basest elements in society and the lowest common denominator. It is no more culture than what is salvaged from the dungle is nutritious and health food.
