My faith in God is between me and God. Church is a place for teaching, encouragement and fellowship....mark you the fellowship part is a huge let down.

In some ways, I still have some of the illusions and innocence of my youth. That is what keeps me youthful I guess I will never loose that. I just feel that if people profess to believe in something they should walk the talk. Mind you, intellectually I have seen numerous instances where that doesn't happen not even close.
A story like this one is so disgusting I hope I never get to the stage where it WON'T shock me.
My son definitely has fewer illusions than I have and he has for some time.
Not quite related to this topic but I will give you an example in a second.
I don't think any of these things would shock my son because I have never hidden anything from him but I did grow up quite sheltered in some respects.
Son (at age 11): We were discussing a prominent legal case.Well you know how it works mommy,whoever has the money to afford the better lawyer will win.
Me: A little cynical for an 11 year old don't you think.
Son: Well is it true.
Me: Laughed
Son: Well is it?
Me: Yes
Son: So just because I am 11 why should I not know it and say it?
