Before he savagely murdered a British soldier in broad daylight, Islamic radical Michael Adebolajo was recruited by the elite MI5 spy agency, a friend revealed.
Agents approached the 28-year-old jihadist after he returned home following a trip to Kenya last year, according to Adebolajo’s pal Abu Nusaybah.
“He was explicit in that he refused to work for them,” Nusaybah told the BBC.
London police arrested three more men Saturday and charged them with suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
Adebolajo is now suspected of slaughtering soldier Lee Rigby, hacking him to death with a meat cleaver in an attack that has stunned Europe.
London cops shot and apprehended a blood-soaked Adebolajo and his accomplice, Michael Adebowale, 22, after the shocking Wednesday slaying in London.
In a bizarre twist, Nusaybah was arrested minutes after he gave the Friday night interview to the BBC.
Authorities said Nusaybah was wanted on suspicion of involvement in unspecified acts of terrorism.
No other details were released.
“He was not arrested because of his comments on (the BBC),” a police spokesman told the British papers.
In the TV interview, Nusaybah said Adebolajo returned a different man after his jaunt to Kenya, where he was allegedly arrested and abused physically and sexually while in jail.
“Although that change wasn’t necessarily one that became overt, aggressive or anything like that, he became ... less talkative,” Nusaybah told the BBC. “He wasn’t his bubbly self.”
Nusaybah also confirmed that Adebolajo, a Muslim convert, was a follower of a radical Islamic group called al-Muhajiroun.
The spiritual leader of the group, Omar Bakri Mohammed, has since praised the savage crime.
Adebolajo “attended some of their activities, but he was an independent guy,” Nusaybah said. “He would float about.”
The BBC said police arrested Nusaybah outside its studios immediately after recording the interview.
“This interviewee had important background information that sheds light on this horrific event,” the BBC said in a statement. “And when we asked him to appear and interviewed him, we were not aware he was wanted for questioning by the police.”

so what is your premise? that this guy was hired by the british to stage this incident to bring bad publicity to islam? I don't know what happened here but I have seen plenty videos of some radical deranged muslim hacking off someone's head....so drunk on religion they feel they have to perform acts like that to prove their devotion to their religion...muslim fanaticism is no better than any other fanaticismComment
