Love the threads you guys post even though I give you a hard time sometimes. Anyway, I want to know if onoo tink there is a double standard pon yah and discuss how this translates to society as a whole. Yesterday, I was looking for one of blu's threads and thought it would be a slam dunk to find it.

I was looking for:

The double standard is that you post about controversial topics and no one has a problem with it .....because you are a man. When I do it...man people get all upset. Nobody gets upset with you when you talk about mzungu, slutty, whorish and all dem ting deh.

You definitely don't get the same level of intense criticism I do when I post topics that are very similar to what you post. Not even close. Mi tink is a double standard at play.

I used to see people laff aftah blue sake a im patois and there was objection to his use of the word mzungu but they don't give him a hard time because he posts about mzungu playting, slut and whore.

I do remember WAY back when you were given a hard time because of your use of yt. Do you remember that? Man people gave you a ton of grief pon dat one but that was way back. It's all sweetness and light now. No one objects to anything you post. Blugiant neidah.

But mek mi post about some man who skewers babies and eats them alive and man the fuss that goes on. I really do think it is an example of a double standard. A man can pretty much say anything he likes but mek a woman say de same thing and all hell breaks lose, surprisingly, often from other women.

Peoplein general....especially women are much more critical of women. The same applies for sure with the women pon yah. Not all of them of course but I will see you say things and no one even bats an eyelash. When I say the same thing and use words that are even less intense than yours, all hell breaks lose. Look at the Beyonce thread as an example.

I don't seem to get the vicious comments from men so much....we debate and disagree or agree but that's it. In society in general, I think people are more critical of women and women can at times be hyper-critical of other women and mean spirit.

I notice on Muta's show women rarely call in. Perhaps there is a know your place bizniz in our community in operation to which mi noh subscribe.
