As we build colonies further from the Sun, or even around dimmer stars elsewhere, we might need to be more sensitive to light. Maybe that will be part of the fashion, too. that was the episode where Paris and Captain Janeway were sent back to the primodial slime and those were the creatures who crawled out of the sea onto land for the first time... so they were in the past not the future....they contained a combination of reptilian and mamalian characteristic,,,

No actually you are wrong about that. It was what human beings were going to evolve into...passing the transwarp threshold or whatever they call it accelerated the process. I saw the episode recently so I remember it vividly.

Kes discovers that Paris' rate of genetic mutation has increased another 12 percent. The Doctor and Kes must hurry to save the last fragment of Paris' original Human DNA. Paris pleads to be let off the ship, because he understands "the past, the present is in the future... the future is in the past." He is more... he is everything. They refuse. After further analysis, The Doctor derives a treatment. He plans to revert Paris' body back to its original genetic coding by destroying the mutated DNA using anti-proton radiation from the warp core.
