I thought a "worker" was someone you paid in return for services provided.
She is just tone deaf.

How come Dean is held to a higher standard than Jamie Foxx? Is it because she is white and from the south?
I didn't see anyone on this site chastising Foxx because of what he said on TV...hmmm.
Jamie Foxx on killing white people in new movie: 'How great is that?
"I get free. I save my wife and I kill all the white people in the movie," Foxx said to thunderous applause. "How great is that?”Foxx recently sparked controversy when he called Obama "our lord and savior" during the recent Soul Train Awards program.
"It's like church over here. It's like church in here. First of all, give an honor to God and our lord and savior Barack Obama. Barack Obama," he said.
The double standard is obvious. If a white actor ever joked that killing black people in a movie was "great," every talking head at MSNBC would explode and the actor would be castigated by the left.
Foxx, however, gets a pass.
"But apparently the moral is this — if you’re black, you can get away with it, because being black is in," Kelsey Osterman wrote at Red Alert Politics.

IMHO, what Jamie Foxx said was not funny at all but it does not excuse the insensitive views that Ms. Deen has, which belog back in the 1800 BTW.
What I will say is that I have a small shread of respect for her for speaking the truth about her use of the "N" word. Instead of denying it, she came clean. Was that because she was affraid that an audio tape or a video would surface to prove her wrong if she denied anything, or was she genuinly wanting to admit what she had done? I don't know! But regardless, it does not excuse her actions and I'm glad her relatioship with the Food Network has been terminated.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the initial language used by Dean come from a court deposition some years back? Why would someone dig up a court deposition from the past?
It's obvious that someone wants her life ruined. They are going to great lengths to destroy her life and career.
Me thinks there is more to this than meets the eye. I'd like to know who is REALLY behind all of this.
And I think the food network should have left her show on and let the people decide if they wanted to watch Paula Dean any more....the food network is running scared because of PC bullsheet.
I'm insulted that someone else makes the decision for all of us. Let the ratings of the show be the deciding factor.
Let's face the truth...there is a certain amount of prejudice of all things that are different than ourselves.
That's life... and the quicker we all get over it, accept it and move on, the better off we all will be.

That is easy to say when you are privileged, but when your livelihood and the survival of your family depends on not being discriminated against, then it is another story.

Not making any excuses for Jamie Foxx (I have my own issues with him. I will explain.), but:
A this post is about Paula Dean
B this all came from a deposition in court and it seems her entire culture is based on accepting White on Black discrimination as evidenced by the above friendly interview and the adverse court filings.
c changing the subject is the oldest most dispicable trick on this board. You are a master.
As for Jamie Foxx. I don't follow the lifestyles of celebrities including Paula Deen, but they are public figures and sometimes their actions and utterances comes out in the news.
I stop listening and paying attention to anything good or bad Jamie Foxx do or say a long time ago. I lost respect for him when he made the comment about Miley Cyrus.
So my friend you are the one who have selective outrage, that you can conveniently pull out of the hat when you don't like the lay of the pitch.

Paula Deen: Clueless on race, blinded by family loyalty

If you want to get a good look at an unreconstructed Southern white lady whose reflexive racism and clannishness is about to destroy a very lucrative television career, check out the deposition everyone’s been talking about in the Paula Deen scandal.

The deposition is less notable for the Food Network maven and cookbook author’s admission that she has used the N-word (I’d be shocked if a 66-year-old woman from Georgia said she hadn’t ever used it) than it is for her cluelessness about race and about what constitutes appropriate workplace behavior and for her pathetic defense of an out-of-control brother.

lonrwolf; the difference between paula deen & jaimie foxx is that foxx is a comedian who made a joke about a role he played in a movie...that's what his character in the movie did- kill white people; paula deen is talking about real life situations & is not joking...she seriously waxes nostalgic about a time when being born of African descent in the USA meant legal racial oppression & being born of European descent meant legal privilege as being the only legitimate citizen of the US. she openly dreams about slavery- c'mon anyone with half a brain can see how a segment of the population would be offended by that. if she is a bigot or if she deserved to get fired-- I don't know or care-- she won't suffer too bad with the millions in her bank account; one thing i'm certain of is that she isn't too bright
