Wow and people thought I got upset when Black men marry White women....

The brutal slaying of Damion Cousins in the quiet community of Hart Hill, Portland, has left a void in his family as members are still struggling to recover from the gruesome incident. The 30-year-old, who was a songwriter and singer, was shot dead by gunmen shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, just hours after tying the knot with a British national.

"Life will not be easy without him around," commented his 80-year-old grandmother, Dorothy Cousins.
"He was a kind and friendly person who gets up in the morning and provides me with a cup of tea. He was very caring and he always ensures that I am well taken care of. Damion got along well with just about everybody, and he loved music. His wife and two children (girls) are in mourning, and it is not going to be easy with him no longer around. They are two bright girls, but they will need help."
She said there was no logical explanation for the killing as her grandson was well loved throughout the community.
Cousins' distraught wife was said to be finding it difficult to come to grips with the murder of her husband.
Cousins had been living full time with his grandmother for about four years and only got married on Monday around 6 p.m. The couple was reportedly entertaining friends and family members at home when the grandmother suggested that the music should be turned off at 10 p.m. as they had not informed neighbours about the reception party.
FAMILY ROBBED
Shortly afterwards, Cousins left the house to drop off friends and family members. Following his departure, two men stormed the house, one allegedly armed with a handgun, asking of his whereabouts. The men were told that he was not home, but they forcibly carried out a search of the house.
The grandmother recounted that the men were arguing that her grandson owed them $10,000 and then proceeded to rob them of a laptop, cellular phones, jewellery, and an undetermined sum of money and then left.
When Cousins returned soon afterwards, he was pounced upon by the men.
He was shot twice - once in the head and neck - near the verandah of the two-storey house.
The police have since taken a man into custody for questioning.
