"I must say I am incensed, because our media practitioners need to be more responsible... one can't just feel irie and send out any report you like," Burrell said, taking a swipe at a popular local radio station that reported the story that a local-based Reggae Boy was tested positive for a banned substance.

Credibility of Powell's physical trainer Xuereb questioned

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- The qualifications and credibility of Canadian physical trainer Chris Xuereb were severely scrutinized as Asafa Powell’s agent Paul Doyle took the stand in the athlete’s drug hearing Wednesday morning.
Doyle, who represents both Powell and Sherone Simpson, was the man who recommended Xuereb to the athletes who in turn, introduced Epiphany D1 which is said to have triggered the adverse analytical findings.
Doyle was quizzed by Lackston Robinson who introduced articles published in Canada that totally discredited Xuereb as not qualified, even as a physiotherapist.
However, Doyle insisted that although Xuereb is not certified he "was qualified to work on Asafa".
Another article introduced in the hearing claimed that Xuereb was fired by Canadian physician Anthony Galea, who himself was later investigated and charged for giving athletes performance enhancing drugs in 2011.
Doyle said he had no knowledge that Xuereb worked with him but heard of the FBI case involving Galea.
Doyle, in defending why he hired Xuereb, said he came highly recommended by Dr Carmen Stillo.

He also revealed that Powell's former coach Stephen Francis was not in agreement with the addition of Xuereb to MVP.

"He...what you would call it, kiss (hiss) his teeth and said 'mi don't like Canadians'," said Doyle.

Meanwhile Powell's close friend Greg Plummer earlier testified that he assisted the athlete during his research on the supplement Epiphany D1.
According to Plummer, friend of Powell for 10 years, it was the first time that he actually sat and watched the athlete make his checks on a particular product.
