2 parents, 2 children pulled from vehicle in Sanford
George Zimmerman helped pull a family from an overturned vehicle in Sanford four days after he was found not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin, deputies said.
According to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, Zimmerman was one of two people who helped rescue the family in a crash near Interstate 4 and State Road 46 in the late afternoon on July 17.
Deputies said a blue Ford Explorer traveled off the road and rolled over at about 5:45 p.m.
Zimmerman helped pull two parents and two children from the vehicle.
Deputies said he did not witness the crash and left after making contact with the responding deputy. Zimmerman has been in hiding since he was released from jail in July 2012.
No one was hurt in the crash.
"George saw a need, he acted. Our parents taught us to help, never to boast. Humility is George's finest trait," Zimmerman's brother, Robert Zimmerman Jr., said on Twitter.
