Crystal Harrison, Staff Reporter A 22-year-old man who allegedly tried to rape a 70-year-old woman had to be rescued from a mob, which gathered and started to beat him after he was repeatedly stoned by the senior citizen, THE STAR understands. The incident, which drew a large crowd, occurred on Saturday in a St Andrew community. It is reported that the police were quickly on the scene, and the cops had to swiftly sort medical assistance for the wannabe rapist, as he had several face and head injuries. Information surrounding the incident is sketchy, however, it is reported that the man has since been released into the custody of the St Andrew North police. THE STAR understands that the accused is also allegedly implicated in the attempted rape of an eight-year-old girl in the same community. It is also reported that the accused allegedly confessed to the cops that idleness pushed him to make sexual advances at the elderly woman and the eight-year-old girl. |
