Kartel freed of murder charge
KINGSTON, Jamaica --Dancehall DJ ‘Vybz Kartel’ was freed of murder charges in the Home Circuit court a short while ago.
Kartel, co-accused Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson were freed after the prosecution declared that no further evidence would be brought against the trio.
On Tuesday the presiding judge ruled that witness statements against the DJ would not be admissible in court.
Kartel was being tried for the July 2011 shooting death of Portmore resident Barrington ‘Bossie’ Bryan.
