We made our own kites but the guys in the neighborhood made those jumbo ones like what vegans posted. One of the goals on the hood was to cut away smaddy else kite so we would put razor pon di tail dem. Nobody else neva do dis?Comment

dont think the boys (girls didnt really play with kites) in my hood did the razor ting. but it use to cause nuff problems wen yuh kite 'buss weh" and smaddy teif it or hide it etc. there was always competition to see who have the biggest baddest kite. lolComment

Checked with my Mom. She is familiar with the razor blade thing but she never saw my dad do it. She said perhaps he did it as a child. She say "Certainly not as a grown man."
She knows about the trucks from juice box with wheels.... She also spoke of her youngest uncle who was not that much older than her making and playing gigs. When he was a child he made traps to catch birds. She would have to watch the trap. She would pull the string. He would climb the tree, get the bird, cook it and they would eat it. Oh mi belly.
