I remember in the 90s living in Jamaica, they proposed raising gas prices and Jamaicans took it to the streets. I remember burning tires, protesting, walking with signs, hardly ANY bus or vehicles could get by (this was before highway 2000). And I remember having CXC to do and they were cancelled.

PJ Patterson then had to respond to the country's uproar. Gas prices were not raised that year. Where is the protests? The Advocacy groups routing for the pressing issues that have plaqued Jamaicans since 1962. Yes, 1962 when politics established the foundation for most of the issues above. I believe the people have voice.

Prayer is good. I believe God will hear and heal the land. And God is still merciful towards Jamaica land we love. But we also need action.....I alone can't do it. I have tried. We need a universal voice in the matter. *sigh*

A lot of Jamaicans are saying "Let's pray that God help us and help our little island". In reality there should be using people power to organize a revolution of sorts. The people's preoccupation with "sidung an pray" is exactly what the powers that be want people to do. If you spending time on your knees praying you not on your feet protesting.

Yes, i have dont extensive research in that area and I atttribute the start of many issues as the foundtation to 1. Jamaican Independence from the British to 2. The established parties at the time till now in 1962.

Let's say god is real and has the ability micro-manage the ting. Wouldn't he/she frown upon the fact that we have elected the same folks who failed a bunch of times to lead us in what is suppose to be a positive direction?
I know what some folks are thinking, but I am not talking PNP v JLP (although that is a major part of it). What I am talking about is inter-Party choices. How could delegates allow proven failures such as, Mr. Bruce Golding, Comrade Portia Simpson-Miller, Dr. Peter Phillips, Dr. Omar Davies, etc to get on any ballot as a progressive choice?
Take Dr. Phillips, this man has been a proven failure 4 times over, yet he was still a choice of the Party in 2008? He has gone so far as to say that Governments that he has been a part for 18 years ran Jamaica into the ground.
In most countries this admission would have been enough to send him to exile or worse.

As for revolution to change leadership, I think it's a waste of time. The revolution we need is in our minds, to come to realization that failures should be rejected and emotions cannot pay for bread.
When JAAA Coaches pick a relay team they do so with the sole intent to picking runners who can get that stick around and be at or near the top when the finish line comes. They don't pick losers.
Jamaicans need to take a couple of pages out of our Athletics Programme and apply it to what matters most.....Politics.
