Need advice to support Black Business

I posted this in the shoutbox but got no feedback. In need

Okay there are 2 takeout places that sell Jamaican food located near me.

Location A:

- 10 minutes or less away depending on traffic
- owned by a Black Jamaican family

Location B:

- 20 - 30 minutes away depending on traffic
- owned by two Chinese brother from Asia not Jamaica, there aunt is married to a Black Jamaican man and has lived in Jamaica for years


Location A the patties really aren't that great. The food is okay. Location B the patties are amazing and their food is great.

Now I want to support the Black business. What would you do? Would you:

- just give them your business?
- patronize location B with much better food
- let the father know you have something to discuss with him privately, give him feedback and a box of patties from the other store so that he can compare and improve his quality?

No location B is one of the Tastees. They make their own.

I assumed location A made their own but I am not sure.

I see where you are going with that. If Location A does not make their own and they are getting them delivered or picking them up, perhaps they can change suppliers.

For sure. I was looking foeward to eating at Golden Krust. Finally had my chance when I experienced my first American Thanksgiving ever on Long Island. The food was okay but I have yet to meet one Jamaican who raves about it. Yet, some people must like it or they wouldn't be growing. The place near me is not at good as that.

There is a Tastee Pattie 20 - 30 minutes from me that is really good. I find that all of the Tastee Patties are not the same standard. For example, there is one I go to sometimes that is just okay.

In Jamaica, I like Juici Pattie. We get them in the supermarket here but they are not the same. Perhaps they need to put more filling or moisture in them since they aren't being served right away.

It's a business. Regardless of race a busines will flourish or fail according to the quality of their product as it compares to their competition. If it's a bad product and inferior to the competition, it will eventually fail.
