Shellie Zimmerman Files for Divorce from George

Shellie Zimmerman made the comments to ABC on Wednesday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor perjury charge for lying during a bail hearing following her husband's arrest for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February 2012.

She also said she wasn't home the night of the shooting because she'd had a fight with her husband.
Shellie Zimmerman said the couple lived "like gypsies" in the months after George Zimmerman was released on bail.
"We have been gypsies for the last year and a half. We've lived in a 20-foot trailer in the woods, scared every night that someone was going to find us, and it was going to be horrific," she said.
Her husband wasn't in court with her as she was sentenced to a year's probation and 100 hours of community service.
He was acquitted of second-degree murder in July.
She said she felt bad for Trayvon Martin's parents.
"I'm so deeply sorry for their loss. I cant even begin to understand the grief a parent experiences when they lose a child."

She was there for him everyday....what a jerk.

The filing was made at the Seminole County Courthouse on Thursday.

A week ago, Shellie Zimmerman appeared on national television and discussed the difficulties of her marriage during and following her husband's murder trial.
George Zimmerman's brother, Robert, said he would be issuing a response to the filing via Twitter.
Shellie Zimmerman will be required to serve one year probation after taking a plea deal on perjury charges against her.

The house where George and Shellie Zimmerman lived during his trial – and for nearly a year leading up to it – was no trailer in the woods.


It is a two-story, $240,000 home on a cul-de-sac with landscaping, a pool and spa in the backyard and two security cameras trained on its front door.
