When this story -with no photo- was first discussed on Boardlane, someone made the assumption that the bride was white. My point? Black people can be as racist as white people.

It is not racist. It is a fair assumption that if someone says British woman....she is White. The majority of people in Britain are still White...last time I checked. Just like is someone said Nigerian woman...the assumption would be that she is Black. That would not be racist at all...it's purely statistics.

It is bizarre that a journalist referring to a Jamaican woman living in England would call her British. Seems they were trying to amp up the interest in the story or they would have said Jamaican woman living in England.

Peasie...someone will correct me if I am wrong but I believe that was a different story. I believe there have been TWO men murdered on their wedding day. Again if I am wrong...I stand corrected.

Yes, it is strange to me that so many are shocked. This incident may be shocking because of the nature of when and where the perpetrators chose(wedding day) to kill the individual. But other than the murder taking place at an actual wedding, is it shocking to hear of SOMEONE BEING MURDERED IN JAMAICA OVER MONEY?

But, death by mass shootings in the US is just a drop in the bucket compared to the body count in big cities each year from the murders of young black males killing other young black males. The number one cause of death of young black males in the US is murder...And Obama is not shocked over this because it is not shocking. It is business as usual. Again, unfortunate but true.

Yes, I agree murder is shocking to those of us that would not consider murder as a way of solving a problem or a dispute. But shock value wears off after the nightly news reports the same thing over and over again in the same area. Random murder is shocking to me. Why kill a person that has not harmed you?

And, I had to add this. I believe it is relevant. Years ago in the US there were (SOME not MOST) US Postal workers that were going crazy on the job and killing fellow workers...Hence the term "Going Postal" evolved as a way of describing someone that was violent and had lost their mind....That does not mean that every postal worker pocessed the DNA that would make them "Go Postal" on another human being.

Sad indeed, but again not shocking in today's climate. Me thinks most people in the US are becoming desensitized to such atrocities.

I don't understand why a child would think his or her life was so terrible that they felt a need to murder to bring attention to their problems. We (US) have failed as a society when our children feel so hopeless that they resort to random or mass murder.

Here is some food for thought. How many of these "problem children" that murder have been treated with drugs over the years such as ritalin etc.for behavioral problems? Do these drugs help, or do they actually create the murderer after years of poison therapy. Long term affects?
