Ackee is a dangerous ting... but (mi learn pan yah Jamaicans.cum sey nutting nuh guh so.. Dat ackee as a toxin is nonsense)... I beleive that ackee could be used to regulate and prevent diabitis... but some reasearch has to be done on it...

Every year three or four people die from ackee posioning... My parents never let us eat it more than once forthnightly... I was fascinated as a child that chickens ate it and the red part and never died.....

But back to this, no way would i buy ackee from a stranger...

Wah sweet nayy goat gwine run im belly.
We had a ackee tree but we were lucky. You had to pass through 3 gates to get to our tree and the rear was macca fence.
We sold our crop to higglers who had stalls at the first gate of our yard.
