Gay ex-marine waitress stiffed on tip by family offended by ‘lifestyle’
A New Jersey family showed its true colors refusing to tip former Marine Dayna Morales and leaving offensive ‘do not agree with your lifestyle’ message instead.
A New Jersey family refused to tip a gay waitress before leaving a note explaining it was because they didn't agree with her lifestyle, it's claimed.
Dayna Morales — a former Marine — said she was left stunned when the diners declined to leave a gratuity at the Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater on Wednesday.
And she added that she was absolutely furious after discovering they'd detailed exactly why they hadn't done so with a message on the $93.55 check receipts.
It read: "Sorry, I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and the way you live your life.
Morales sent a snap of the note to the "Have A Gay Day" Facebook group — where it soon went viral.
Alongside the picture, she said her experience of serving the family got off to a bad start when the mom was "shocked" by her short hair.
"She says 'oh I thought you were gonna say your name is Dan. You sure surprised us!" wrote Morales.
"I am THOROUGHLY offended mad p***** off and hurt THIS is what her kids will grow up learning and that I served in the Marines to keep ignorant people like them free," she added.
"Sorry lady but I don't agree with YOUR lifestyle and the way you're raising your kids but you didn't see me throwing that in your face and giving you s***** service," she ended.
Morales, who later revealed it took "every fiber of her being" not to spit in their food, said she had been overwhelmed by the support received since uploading the image online.
"You all have put the BIGGEST smile on my face tonight and made me realize that there are more good people in the world than bad," she said.
